Mission accomplished on swapping in 500 tail lights into a 2005 Montego eliminating the LED tail light problem easily. Secret is to find a donor 500 that has the same factory options as your Montego and move the fuse panel under the dash (aka SJB) All turn/brake functions and a a lot more are now controlled by these SJB's I am sure there is a way to reprogram the existing SJB but why bother just take the SJB out of the donor car at the salvage yard and use it. Note: you will have reprogram your remote key fobs to match the donor SJB takes all of 1 minutes (key switch on/off in quick succession and press any button on remote) BAM no more LED tail light problems. Did this all for around 125 bucks. If i had not wasted money on silly 3 to 2 trailer wire connector boxes that did not work it would have been less than 100 bucks LOL

So idk if I got some kind of miracle from above but I've been following this since I got my 06' Ford Five Hundred Limited. Finally today after a few times of no luck at pick a part I found an 07' Mercury Montego at a not so local pick a part. I was able to install them without harming the factory wiring. Not quite sure how or why but mine were simple plug n' play. Also decided to buy the headlight assemblies and give that a go at wiring it up to my Five Hundred. If anyone is interested I'll make a write up of what I do.

So when i cut the maker and reverse off my five hundred harness!!! How do i wire everything backup so all my lights work. Because at first when I plugged up the harness that actually came with the 2008 Ford Taurus into my socket inside my 2005 Ford 500 and hooked everything up and everything works but the turn signals and the brake light. How do I fix this with the new wiring that you're talkin about? Please get back with me as soon as possible I'm trying to do this either tonight or first thing in the morning. Thanks again and I hope you're having a great wonderful and blessed night.
