2013 PI Ignition conversion

Post by cooldude.country » Sat Aug 03, 2019 10:38 am

I need some advice. Would it be possible to replace the turnkey ignition in my 2013 PI with a push to start ignition? If so it would probably require a software modification. I have searched the forum for an answer but found none. Thanks.

I seem to remember reading on some other boards that this isn't possible with the PIs. just too much differences in the harnesses and programming. not saying that it couldn't be done with a will and $$$ - but your probably much better off going to a decent stereo store and having them install one for you.

you can part one together from Amazon as well - but I wouldn't want to be left stranded somewhere because the sketchy electronics made overseas just decided it was having a bad day.

might not be a bad idea to keep you keyed ignition module just in case tho - you'd prob have to bypass the RFID interlock module that comes with these systems to go back to a keyed ignition.

back in the day before locking steering wheels we used to keep something like this to play pranks on friends and enemies.

I kinda thought this was the case. The Ford Dealer could probably do it but I would have to purchase another replacement module at beaucoup $$$$$ lol. Thank you for confirming what I suspected. I’m in process of buying a center floor console for my PI out of a 2014 SHO with cup holders. This is my 2013 PI. Thanks.

This actually would be extremely easy seeing as how thee no security features in the police interceptors.

I think to just incorporate the button might not be too difficult, but it seems the OP wants the whole shebang, transmitter keys and all...
