Interior Reading Lights

Post by Cahurlim » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:01 am

I was changing the interior lights to white LEDs in my 2015 Limited. Looked great but now the rear reading lights won’t turn off. The rear dome light is ok. Any suggestions are appreciated!

The electrical systems in these cars are quite finicky!. On my 2013, when I changed mine to all LED, I had to add a resistor to the rear dome light to get it to turn off. Measure the resistance of the incandescent bulb and then add a resistor across the terminals and the light should turn off then. At least it did on mine. try it by installing the bulb you took out. If it does turn off, that is the issue.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. Unfortunately mine won’t turn off with the old bulbs either. It’s just the rear reading lights. The front and rear dome lights work fine. And the vanity mirror lights are ok too. Very puzzling. I ordered a new light housing but it does the same thing.
