What part did you replace? The display/button panel or the main box in the trunk?

I swapped out the stereo and the display button panel. No juice to radio but all the other controls worked.

I was looking into the main box in trunk. not sure how to test it to see if that is the problem.

Maybe somebody can post the connector pin functions so you can at least check to see if power is getting to the radio unit as a first step. Otherwise, it could be a wiring (damaged wire?) or other communication issue between the control panel and the radio.

Good idea. Wires connecting to stereo/control panel looked good but....

Box in trunk is what I plan on looking into next. Unsure what it is called (amplifier) and make sure it is working.

I hate wiring and am not qualified to do this. but don't know where to turn w/o paying someone more than the car is worth.

The box in the trunk is the actual radio and amplifier. That's why the antenna is just above it. The dash is just a control panel and the cassette or CD player. I'm guessing there is a wire or pair of wires for communication between the two parts.

How would a guy go about testing that amp?

Could it be the problem?

Turn on your car, unplug the box in the trunk and test the wire plug with a 12v tester. If the plug has power then it's the box. Hope it helps you out

Learned today that the box in the trunk is a cd player.

It has power to it so that part is good. Going to thoroghly go thru fuse box and make double sure that isn't the problem.
