There are lots of reasons for poor mileage, what are you getting and what is your driving style?
2000 Ford Taurus SEL (excellent car, sold to a friend)
1992 Mercury Sable GS (good car except for the tranny, sold)
Current: 03 F150 King Ranch SuperCrew
Other Fords owned: 02 F150 SuperCrew 4x4, 11 F150 EcoBoost, 07 Ranger, 01 F150 XLT, 98 F150 XLT, 96 Thunderbird LX, 95 Escort GT, 86 Mustang LX, 82 Mustang

i've resigned myself to the fact that I am not going to get much better than 18-19 mpg in the city.

but, Prius mileage isn't why we bought our PIs did we?

The MPG equivalent is 14 city and about 20 highway.

I BABY the hell out of the gas and brakes (almost never use breaks just coast to lights)

Yeah but being in Canada a fill up cost me $90 today, if I was out west it'd be almost $120

Have you scanned for diagnostic codes? Check your tire pressures, alignment in spec? Correct factory tire size? etc.

Are you tracking fuel economy manually using km driven & liters used vs dash readout?

I check everything manually and with dash.

Tires are basically new but I had winter's on recently. Pressure and alignments are good
