I would think it would be a heated throttle body.

I know this thread is old but I am desperate, ford garage has had our vehicle for over a month. 05 freestyle limited w/230,000 miles. Failsafe mode engaged replaced throttle body, needed PCM reflashed, defective throttle body, put on old one will drive for 20 miles and go into failsafe mode again. Purchased another throttle body, drive 20 miles failsafe mode, garage stated its throwing trans code now but did not give me codes. They only have labor into it but at this point just for labor I could have purchased a drive till it dies vehicle please help!

I would throw $50 at it and replace the accelerator pedal assembly.
