Well, I guess that pretty well tells those of us with '10's what have to look forward to. HA! Years ago when I saw the movie 10, I thought it was something really good!

Nothing too bad as long as peeling tail light trim doesn't bother you!

I'd buy it again if Ford listened and worked on the problem areas. Otherwise, sorry,no!

Hey Lemmyboy, You had mentioned only primer under hood and trunk. The color under the hood and trunk should match your car color but none of them are clear coated. Not mine either. Thats the way they make them all. I have white Suede on the outside and White Suede under the hood and trunk but they are only sprayed not cleared also. Maybe I misunderstood you when you said primer. Primer is usually grey or red.

Well, for my 2010 Limited, the rear camera doesn't work, the sun shade broke last week, the cooled seats stopped working........... I don't know, I like this car but it has lots of problems. My car has 44,000 miles on it so none of this is covered under warranty. Oh ya, I almost forgot, I had the tail light bezels replaced twice!!! Both times it was under warranty.

Visited my local Ford dealer yesterday, talking about trading this car......... :-(

I've got just overf 50K miles on my 2010 SEL and I'll be trading it on a new companhy vehicle in about May or June. Our fleet manager told me recently that the 2013 Taurus prices had risen so much we can't go with them again after three years of them being in the fleet. The only Ford vehicle available to me will be a 2013 Fusion with a turbo 4 banger...no thanks! Looks like I'm going to get a 2013 Chrysler 200 Limited with just about every goodie in the book. I know it's a bit smaller than my Taurus, but hey...I don't pay for it!

Don't discount the Fusion with turbo 4. Lots of power and good mileage. Even BMW is putting turbo 4's in their 5 series cars so I would test drive it before saying no.

I just returned from a 2000+ mile trip from California thru Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada. My Taurus performed flawlessly, and it was a pleasure to drive. I'm still fascinated by the actice cruise/collision avoidance system! I finally managed to get slightly over 27 mpg which is the best I've done - - - - probably something to do with the car being broke in now at 23,000 miles. Pretty darned good for a 265hp V-6! You know how rare it is to see other Taurus' out there? Well, at one point there were three of us together on the road - a black one, red, and my silver. Now I've just got to get my flaking chrome replaced on the taillight surrounds.

We've updated the our reliability stats for the Taurus to include owner experiences through September 30, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2011: 27, better than average

2010: 64, worse than average on stricter, recalibrated scale, peeling tail light trim a common problem within the past year; the stat could improve as this one moves out of range

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

These stats for the years where we have enough data:

2011: 81, < 1

2010: 59, 3

We'll have further updates in February and May. The more owners participate, the more precise these will be.

I have my 2011 Taurus that I actually purchased in July of 2010. This car drives like a dream! I now have 102000 miles on it and you would never know it to drive it. I put a cold air intake on it and actually gained 2 MPG. I just had new rotors put on,, along with my plugs changed. Previously I had my transmission fluid, and coolant changed along wth rear brakes. So the car is running great. Fyi. I do lots of traveling for work so I stay in front of my maintenance...tire rotations and oil changes every 5000 mile. So with good maintenance I have been fortunate. I hope this will ease any anxieties with high mileage Taurus' s.

We've updated the our reliability stats for the Taurus to include owner experiences through December 31, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012: 43, moderate, very small sample size

2011: 36, moderate

2010: 69, high; peeling tail light trim a common problem

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.

2011: 74, < 1

2010: 51, 2

Thank you, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. With more owners involved, we could provide more precise information and fully cover all model years from 1998 on.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Taurus to include owner experiences through March 31, 2013.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012 Taurus: 37, moderate, very small sample size
2011 Taurus: 29, low
2010 Taurus: 62, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2011 Taurus: 74, < 1
2010 Taurus: 55, < 1

These stats would be better if chrome didn't keep peeling off the tail light trim of these cars.

We'll have further updates in August and in November.

Sorry, just trying to put a humorous spin on it.

I am very surprised that this particular problem has dragged on for so long.
