Changing the Battery

Post by ddderek » Tue Aug 25, 2015 8:44 pm

I just changed the battery in my 2008 Taurus and went with the Group 58 Interstate Battery with more CCA rather than the Group 59. This went seemless in my 2009 but in the 2008 the battery being slightly smaller and in the 2008 the tie down strap is too big on the new battery? Anyone else run into this and does someone sell a smaller strap for batteries or has anyone come up with an ingenius solution to use the stock strap?

You can get a battery with more CCA's still in the same size as the one you took out. The problem you have now is that nothing works to hold the battery down. No fix for that except to get another battery.

Sorry, I'm not buying another battery!? This battery is fine for the car, it is a better performing battery and I will find a solution. Costco only has limited numbers of different sized batteries and at half the cost of the Motorcraft, I'll take it every time.

You got it at costco? just take the car there and they will exchange it for you so you have the correct size with the CCA's that you got.

Costco does not sell the Group 59 batteries. They have a limited selection.
