need some help with 06 taurus

Post by johnriz » Wed Jan 06, 2016 3:25 pm

I have an 06 that has an issue. I went to put it in drive and nothing happened. i checked under the hood and found that the place where the cable connects to the arm on the top of the tranny had come off. I went to the dealer and they wanted me to buy a 90 dollar cable. I am not sure I need this though. it seems to be missing a gromet of some sort. can anybody help me out on where i would find this

Do you have a junkyard nearby? Could try to get a used part for a lot less $$.

nothing all that close. it seems like there should be some sort of bushing in the hole on the arm. the dealer was clueless. he said he didnt know and that i should just try to buy the cable.

Your cable looks fine to me. Put in your VIN at http://www.fordparts.com and look at the diagrams.
