Not All Recalls Created Equal (or something like that)

Post by EmmaJean500 » Mon Jul 06, 2015 6:49 pm

I have a 2005 500 with 45K. There never was a recall for this 500 regarding the throttle body. Made a call to the Ford dealer that is 6 miles north of me. Had a conversation with a service adviser who asked for the VIN. He did tell me that the only recall that was on this car was ENGINE IDLE SURGE EXT/Warranty, but it expired 2 years ago. I then called Ford, got the same recall, but it would expire in 2 days. About the throttle body I was told it had something to do with the date the car was manufactured. The recall number is 12N03. I will research this to get an idea of what to look forward to. What I came up with is the recall is dependent on the VIN. Any comments?

I got my answer, and, yes, it is about the throttle body! Not to worry as I watched someone clean on out and explained what to do next.

It wasn't a recall, but an extended warranty program. It was in effect from 10 years of warranty start date... I can look that up in OASIS if you wanted to PM me a VIN.
