Re: 2006 Montego Codes p2104 and code 2112

Read the following thread. I was getting a P2104 and P2111 at the time. I replaced the throttle body and pedal assembly and have had no problems since.

Re: 2002 Taurus Idle

Take off the IAC and clean it...or replace it. If it still does the idle bounce thing you may have a vac leak.

Re: Power Steering Filter? 99 Taurus

Not sure about your car, by my brother's 2000 ML320 had a screen in the ps reservoir that blew out and caused noise/cavitation. I replaced the reservoir and bled the system properly (front end up on jacks, turning the steering wheel lock to lock several times) and he didn't have problems afterwards.

Re: 01 Taurus dying at cruising speed

What kind or motor? Vulcan or Duratec? You said "opening throttle does nothing"...do you mean opening the throttle body by depressing the accel pedal does nothing or manually opening the throttle body does nothing?

If you have a hard pedal, I would suspect bad brake booster

FYI...I only got a cel during one instance of multiple limp modes experienced. Luckily I had my reader at the time and pulled the codes before restarting

Re: 2005 five hundred brake light issue

And your gauges are working as they should? Since I have owned my 2005, I have had several times where my gauges go out (I assume from a bad solder joint as mentioned in other threads)...when the gauges go out, I have no turn signals, and cruise control does not work.

Re: failsafe engine mode... throttlebody replacement

I think you can use either...you just have to connect a bypass hose if you buy a non-heated.

Re: failsafe engine mode... throttlebody replacement

Look and see if it has 2 small coolant hose connections on it. One will be on the top left, and one will be on the bottom right.

Re: failsafe engine mode... throttlebody replacement

If you can get just the TPS, that would be my recommendation. If you can't get just the TPS, order a reman TB from ebay. If you order the TB, make sure you get what you need/want...a heated TB, or a non-heated TB.

I had a separate thread on here where I gave all of the part numbers...including one for just the tps I think. I will try to find tomorrow when I am at work.

Re: failsafe engine mode... throttlebody replacement

I was not able to find/buy just the TPS sensor that sits on the side of the electrical TB. I believe that you used be able to buy JUST the TPS, but I don't believe that you can buy just the TPS part now.

The TPS however, can be unscrewed (Torx bits) and replaced if you could find just the TPS.
