Re: Seems like it will stall in first 5 seconds, then fine

i just started having this issue myself. im not sure what i should do. does the heet actually work? It is quite worthless in most of the country, as all it is is a bottle of alcohol. Guess what, modern gas has upward of 10% alcohol out of the pump so you are wasting your time with HEET. Do yourself...

Re: Five Hundred Owners - How many miles?

Currently 270K, occasionally used. Purchased in 2009 with 70K and turned into a Chicago-Cab. No major issues since then. I have learned a lot with this car and done most of the maintenance myself or get it done under my supervision. Otherwise most mechanics are not familiar with this vehicle. Would ...

Re: Flushing rusty coolant out

Did it actually help? Did it maintain the clean fluid? How is your heater condition? Most comments about heater core is that once it starts corroding it will keep getting rusty in the coolant. I need to do the same thing for my Ford 500. Thanks for the video.

Re: Speeometer is off!!

There is a fuse and also a few light bulbs behind the cluster. It is not very hard to take off. 4 screws connecting the cluster to the dash and they can be reached after bottom pieces are off.

Re: Power windows, interior lights and radio not working

Did you check the fuse box located under the hood, by the battery? If mirror fried another component might as well be down causing others to stop working. These three items usually connected together via a fuse and also a relay-junction box(called comfort control module in some vehicles). Keep check...

Re: No Heat : 2007 Ford 500 SEL AWD CVT

Did you check the coolant level? If the coolant level is low water will not be enough to make it to the heater core located behind the dashboard, instead it will bypass through to thermostat. If coolant level is full it might be time for a thermostat or coolant temp sensor. A good mechanic would be ...

Re: 05 five hundred water pump repair

I do not know If you got it fixed yet but Water pump is not very hard to replace on this engine. i got it done twice and I do suggest you to replace the pump as the reason it made it leak might have caused WP bearings or blades to go bad!

My Taurus had similar problem and It disappear after alternator replacement. It may not receive enough power and alter the electronics! Re: Seems like it will stall in first 5 seconds, then fine

My 500 used to do that till I started cleaning the throttle frequently. Your issue might have been the tune up or as Dwcopple mentioned changing the fuel filter and adding injector cleaner helps! I keep getting cylinder #4 missfire code. I swapped the coils and changed the plugs but same thing comes...

Re: transmission leak??

Your question could have been answered quicker If you had provided some more info or pictures. I did not quite get what or where the leak occurs. If you have CVT I wonder how the slip occurs. If you want to get trans fluid changed/flushed it will cost you couple hundred bucks. If you do not know wha...

When you had changed the A/C previously they could have replaced the whole system including drier and accumulator. I have replaced A/C compressor several times till I figure that out myself! Drier was in back order so never had a chance to replace it. Compressor is going bad again...

Re: Bought 07 SEL w/ 80K miles. What should I watch for/do n

Check your oil periodically. Replace trans fluid every 30-50k. Spark plugs every 75k. By then you will need new shocks and struts, Tie rod ends, fuel filter and possibly fuel pump. Make sure to get the throttle body cleaned every 25-50k miles, it will eliminate lurching issue most people has! Engine...

Re: Remote Keyless Entry???

Buy a replacement key fob from ebay for $5 and program it yourself. In order to program the new remote control you need to insert the key to the ignition and turn it on(without starting the engine), turn it on and off total of seven times, leaving in ON mode at the end. You will hear the door locks....
