Re: 2006 Ford Taurus air bubbles in power steering

Smart move. The jackasses that installed a new steering rack for my brother did not properly bleed the system and they blew out the screen. Read the following and loo at the pics. I am "warment" on that site as well.

Re: 2006 Ford Taurus air bubbles in power steering

Is it possible that the screen in the reservoir is blown out? Saw cavitation before in my brothers ml320. Replaced the reservoir and bled the system properly wand no cavitation afterwards. I cut the old reservoir open and the screen was broken. I bled the steering by jacking up the front wheels off ...

Re: Random no-start Ford Taurus wagon

I would check the fuel pressure at the rail when you turn the key on before starting. Likely a fuel pump issue IMO. On a side note...I had a similar problem with my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7...Cold starts were fine but every once in a while it wouldn't start after being driven for a while. Tried ...

Axle nut removal was very easy for me with a long breaker bar. Det get one for this if you don't already have one.

Re: 2007 Five Hundred noise after strut replacement

Yep...whole thing comes out...spring is compressed...top nut is removed...new upper strut mount/bearing installed...nut reinstalled...spring is uncompressed...whole thing goes back in. I recently replaced the front struts on my 500. Really not that big of a deal.

Sounds like the upper strut mount/bearing is trash now to me. I think you need to replace it.

Not sure...but I know on my 2005 Five Hundred that the right halfshaft on my car is longer than the left...it has an extra support/support bearing on it.

Re: Heater fan imtermittent off then back on

If water is getting in, it is likely a sunroof drain. Do you have a sunroof? My brother's 2000 MB ML320 let water in at the right angle rubber sunroof drain near the front right passenger footwell. the "pinched tip" of this drain was clogged with debris.

Re: Transmission cooler line connector fitting leaking

I would try tightening it up. Can't hurt. I had a little drip on my brothers equinox when I replaced the radiator for him. Just needed tightening. Trans cooler is inside radiator submerged in coolant. Just a rubber seal and brass fitting if I remember correctly. Trans line connects to brass fitting

My mom's 2003 Vulcan had a rotted pcv elbow on the top left side of the motor when facing the car. Remove yours and take a look inside if you have the same setup.

Re: 2006 Ford Five Hundred - final days

I know what you mean. My 2005 has a huge hole on the right side and the left side has bubbled and will have a hole soon. I believe the problem was due to bad prep work, since mine bubbled between the metal and the paint. Oh well. I have 319k onine now and will continue running it until it dies or a ...

Wow. Good luck. I am about to go over 317k on my five hundred. I bought my mom a 2003 taurus Vulcan in 2003. Still has it and it runs great. Has a leaky timing cover though.

Re: Door Latch Lubrication

Then the pass door acted up this morning...wouldn't latch...so I sprayed it along with the other doors and trunk. I honestly think the problem is caused by the rubber coating on the mechanism. I have cut and pulled out what I could on other cars. Seems to help.

I just went through this on my driver's door 2 days ago. I sprayed the latch/mechanism with silicone spray and didn't remove anything. It worked well this morning at less than 10 degrees.
