Re: Error code PO174 system too lean (bank 2)

If you are asking about the tube O-rings, I bought the entire tube with fittings on both ends and replaced the entire piece. If you are asking about gasket O-rings for the intake, I got those at NAPA. The tube I got from ford.

05 500 ABS light and Traction control light on

This morning driving to work the ABS light came on and at the same time the traction control symbel came on as well. I have not had time to run codes on it, but I am guessing its a ABS sensor. Anyone else have this issue? The bearings were changed a year ago, so I dont think they have anything to do...

Re: Error code PO174 system too lean (bank 2)

It had nothing to do with the gaskets. I found the connection on the tube that goes from the PCV Valve to the intake was bad (bad O-ring seals). Connector was bad on the intake.

Re: ERG Valve nut removal on 05 500 for intake removal

I did find out you don't have to remove the EGR valve! There are two bolts that connect the ERG valve to the Plenum that when removed separate the two, then the intake manifold may be removed. Much simpler than taking off the large nut holding the entire EGR valve. Hopefully this will be a help to th...

Error code PO174 system too lean (bank 2)

Has anyone ran across this code? Just changed my plugs and had to remove the intake manifold to get at the back bank. Car runs great, but keep getting this check engine code. Wondering if anyone else has ran into this? I replaced the upper gaskets, but not the lower gaskets, however I did clean the ...

Re: ERG Valve nut removal on 05 500 for intake removal

There is not a lot of room to get any kind of cheater on the wrench. Is it possible to leave the valve itself on and remove the two screws that hold the tube going into the manifold? Will this seperate the valve from the intake upper? If this is not the case, what is the best type of wrench to use? ...

ERG Valve nut removal on 05 500 for intake removal

Anyone know a good way to remove the nut on the EGR valve? I'm trying to replace the rear spark plugs and right now this is the only thing in my way. I can get a adjustable wrench on it, but it wont budge. I saw in another post someone used a 1 1/8" crows foot wrench, if that works I would be happy ...

Re: Drone when making high speed gradual right turns

OK, I think I need to back up a little and it may help diagnose the problem. I slid into a curb in a ice storm, the front left wheel glanced off the curb and the back wheel swung around and hit the curb. I was trying to pull out of the slide and turning to the right when I hit the curb. Unfortunatel...

Thanks for the information! Do you know what the torque spec is on the manifold bolts as well? I am assuming its not a good idea to re-use the manifold gaskets.

500 spark plug change

Have a 2005 500 and would like to change the plugs, does anyone know what all I need to remove on the intake manifold to get at the rear spark plugs? Also need to know what gaskets I need and tork spec's to tighten bolts to on the plugs and manilfold. Thanks!

Re: Front end creaking groaning after hiting MASSIVE HOLE.

My Five Hundred had some of the same creaks, turned out to be the front sway bar links. You could look at those. It is not the steering stops, they only come into play on a hard turn in one direction and it is metal on rubber, its just a stop. Struts maybe something to look at as well.

Re: Drone when making high speed gradual right turns

Thanks, I will try that, I did have my neighbor climb in the back, but he said the truck kind of echoed the noise, so he couldnt tell if either was making the noise. Feeling the struts may help.

Drone when making high speed gradual right turns

I am getting a drone intermittinly when making high speed gradual turns (45-60 mph)to the right. This is driving me crazy, because I have tried to figure out where it is coming from. I thought that it was the front left wheel bearing, so I replaced it last night, still there. I have new tires, balen...

I just replaced my sway bar links yesterday, took care of of all my creaks and knocks. One was bad and the other one was on the way. Easy job and a lot easier than struts!

Re: Engine mount shot

When you talk about swinging the bracket out of the way, do you need to loosen it at the other end against the firewall or is there enough play in the rubber mount to get it out of the way? What kind of metal is the center bushing made of on the Volvo part? Steel or Aluminum? I need to replace mine,...
