Re: Recommendations on Catalytic Converter manufacturer

You're better off getting an OEM cat for best results. Or buy a california cat as a second choice. My $.02.

Re: Got a 2008 Ford Taurus SEL FWD A Couple of Weeks Ago

Welcome! Calipers don't warp, but brake rotors do. Normally if you replace the pads you replace the rotors so OK they only half did the brake job IMHO. You should go make sure the lug nuts are torqued properly ASAP.

Re: Recommendations on Catalytic Converter manufacturer

Stick with OEM or a 50-state legal high quality cat if you want the CEL to stay off. If you cheap out the cat won't last as long, they're cheaper for a reason. Since your issue is intermittent you could try a can of cataclean - https://amzn.to/2vmBjqC - it may help for a while if the cat isn't truly...

Perhaps it's telling you that you have low oil pressure, not quantity. I'm not sure, check the owners manual.

Re: HOW TO PREVENT WATER PUMP FAILURE

...My dealer hit me up years ago, said I had the orange coplant and this was now known to be a problem with water pump failures and heater core clogging. They wanted to use a TSB to flush, neutralize and change to green. I changed and the service manager recommended to change at 30k intervals. Do y...

Axle issue? Sounds like things could go bad fast, so you should have a mechanic put it on a lift and check it out ASAP if you can't figure it out on your own.

Tire perhaps? Hub would be my first guess too. Welcome.

Does it make the noise both when accelerating and decelerating?

Re: Power Steering Fluid Clumps??

I'm not sure what your reservoir looks like exactly, very similar to the one on my 03 F-150 I'm sure. I recently flushed the system on it, here's a look inside the reservoir. The big holes are the return line, the fluid that's fed into the system goes through that sieve that catches small particles ...

Re: Power Steering Fluid Clumps??

No, you won't find anything to dissolve clumps, that is highly abnormal. Clean out the reservoir by removing it and flushing it off the vehicle.

Re: Power Steering Fluid Clumps??

Try to suck out what you can from the reservoir. It has a filter so in theory any clumps in the system should all be in the reservoir. Remove it from the car if you have to.

Use the correct fluid, any Ford dealer will have it in stock (or use the Amazon link). Don't use any other chemicals.

Re: Power Steering Fluid

Welcome! That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard of regarding the power steering fluid. What brand of fluid did you use? How much fluid did you go through when "flushing"? Should be about 2 quarts, I usually go 3. Then you need a little more to refill. If you didn't use Ford/Motorcraft Mercon V, ...

Re: 2011 Taurus 3.5 water pump failure

Antifreeze in the oil destroys bearings internal to the engine. It's most likely too late. Do you know how long the oil was ran like that?

Welcome to the site. This really is a dumb design. Did you try scanning for diagnostic codes and monitoring sensor readings to help narrow the issue down?

Re: Sent a letter to Ford consumer relations about water pump

Does anyone know if they make a kit for everything you need to do this repair yourself? water pump, timing chain, tensioners, gaskets and anything else.Or a parts list There is no kit that I'm aware of. If you do find a parts list, be sure to verify the parts with a dealer before buying anything be...

Re: Sent a letter to Ford consumer relations about water pump

Wait, your 2015 Taurus had TWO engines in which the water pump went out? I can't even comprehend that as a possibility. User error?... Do you understand why the water pumps fail? It's a Ford design error, the users (customers) are victims. I would not own one of these cars outside of the warranty p...

Re: Sent a letter to Ford consumer relations about water pump

My advice is to buy a vehicle without the self-destructing engine / water pump configuration. I did, and it's not a Ford ;) Oops, did I say that out loud? Hey I still have my F-150. It's old enough it doesn't have the horrible 3 valve spark plugs breaking off in the thread and failing VCT solenoid p...
