If you do, make sure you seal the metal hole air tight so you don't get moisture or exhaust fumes coming up through there.

Re: 2014 Taurus roof trim coming off

I've been running Ford forums for 16 years now, if Ford will cover the labor and you pay for the parts, you're getting a deal. When the warranty is done, it's done.

Did you not have powertrain warranty still? Why did you swap the trans, and what did it come out of? I'm not sure just off-hand if PCM or TCM needs reprogramming.

If you want a reasonably priced DIY device, I highly recommend BlueDriver, it reads Ford enhanced codes and works on many vehicles. Auto parts stores are free but they exist to sell you parts that you may not need.

Re: blind spot not working

oooh before spending that kind of cash, I would properly diagnose it. Scan for diagnostic codes to see if something is set. It could be as simple as a cut or break in a wire that would cost a few bucks to fix. I'd hate to see you just buy that part and not have it solve your problem.

Re: 2009 Taurus Engine continues to misfire after replacing spark plugs and coil packs

Aha so now you see how important it is to post the actual code(s) ;) See https://www.obd-codes.com/p0352 In light of the new information, don’t worry about spark just yet, focus on the COP wiring, maybe you have a cut or break in the wiring, or it rubbed through against another part. Focus on diagno...

Re: 2009 Taurus Engine continues to misfire after replacing spark plugs and coil packs

Codes never indicate to replace parts, merely where to begin diagnosis. Forget what AutoZone says, they are not experienced technicians, they are parts sellers. I don't think a knock sensor could cause this issue. You'd be more likely to have a P0325 or similar code if it's a knock sensor. I can tel...

Are you out of comprehensive warranty? The battery is covered for 3 years or whatever mileage (60K?). Did you talk to the dealer today?

Ask your local dealer service department. Would take mere minutes with your VIN.

Re: 2013 Taurus - Looking for power seat motor part number.

Do not trust Dorman for any critical parts. A door lock actuator or trim piece, sure. A critical engine component, absolutely not. They are cheap Chinese parts for a reason. Many people have learned that lesson the hard way... ;)

I'm not 100% sure but I'd say it is for an outside temperature sensor. If you have automatic climate control or another outside temp display from the factory, that plug would be used.

Re: HOW TO PREVENT WATER PUMP FAILURE

Wow $$... but.... keep in mind that if you don't have a receipt for a coolant change/flush at the proper interval, they can potential invalidate the extended warranty. And that $9,300 warranty only takes effect AFTER the factory warranty expires, so it's not a 7 year warranty in reality, it's more l...

Re: HOW TO PREVENT WATER PUMP FAILURE

Does anyone know if Ford has addressed the issue (somehow) with recent 3.5L vehicles? Of course I'm specifically concerned with my 2016 model year but just wondering if Ford even thinks there is a significant issue. Your engine still has a similar design, could be susceptible over time. An extended...

Re: Future water pump failure

p.s. One theory is that you should be vigilant with your coolant changes. Many people don't change their coolant as required so if the coolant loses some of it's benefits over time and gets old it may accelerate a water pump failure. Just another thing to consider.
