Re: Wet driver's side floor board

That should do it. Good Job Kermit. Just one concern. the clear tube is not really for outdoor use. It might crack or fall apart in about a year or two. But for now, wait to see if that gets rid of the problem. If it does, start looking for a outdoor rated tube (Black usually means outdoor ot UV rat...

Re: Wet driver's side floor board

BTW: would you fool with FORD and have them fix it or just do it yourself? I would only bring it to the dealer if it was under warranty. If you have a local mechanic that you trust or one that can be recomended go to them. I could have done what my mechanic did, it just happens I have been going to...

Re: Wet driver's side floor board

Thanks Paul for the information. Is it rain going back up or is it just the A/C and raining has nothing to do with the leak? Kevin Mine was the AC. The AC drain comes striaght out the firewall, no angle at all and when the water got to the end of the hose, it would travel back on the bottom of the ...

Re: Wet driver's side floor board

@ intimidater67 - Where did you get that 90 degree hose from? Has anyone else solved this problem. I have a 2006 that started experiencing the same issues around 74K miles, been 3 times in the Dealership (b/c under 75K warranty) and the only resolution was the drain for the A/C, they supposedly (I ...

Re: Wet driver's side floor board

My 2005 had the same problem I located the source, and found it was coming from the ac evaporator core/heatercore box which is directly behind the radio and heater controls. If you look just to the right of the gas pedal you can see the bottom of the box meets the firewall. There is a foam seal tha...

Re: Peripheral PXAMG ipod/aux input installed!

Hey Andy, I do have full access to the radio menu. Weird thing is that I have to push the menu button twice in iPod mode to get to the menu. Then I can adjust everything from Bass/Treble, Fader, Time etc... Maybe there is something different from the 05 to the 06. Only thing I can see different is m...

Re: Peripheral PXAMG ipod/aux input installed!

Hey Paul - contrats on the install - and yours is set up just like mine in terms of where the wiring comes into the console and where I store my iPod. Had mine in for about a year now, and it works great every time. One annoyance is that you can't muck with any of the menu setup options on the fact...

Re: Peripheral PXAMG ipod/aux input installed!

I just put the PXAMG in my 05 Mercury Montego and WOW. Thanks to Andy's post, I got the [email protected]'s to buy one and install it. I didn't think it was going to be that easy. I install Ford's Mobile-Ease Bluetooth for my cellphone 2 years ago and that also was Plug-N-Play. I had to Daisy Chain the Mobile-Ea...

Re: Hitch for 2008 Taurus

Just thought I'd post a follow-up here. Ended up putting a 2" Curt hitch on the wife's Freestyle this weekend. Considered putting it on the Montego (both have AWD/CVT and the self-adjusting shocks for ride height), but the "hassle" of putting in the wiring after watching Paul's detailed description...

Re: My Insurance just went up $150, WHY??

After two weeks of pondering which insurance company to go to, I decide to go with Progressive. They out beat all the other insurance companies I called. I will also move my motorcycle insurance to Progressive in June when it's up for renewal. That will be a savings of a little over $250 plus whatev...

Re: My Insurance just went up $150, WHY??

I have not heard this, either. However, I guess the argument makes sense in a certain way. If they had to pay for a repair involving rare parts, it would cost them more. That's not a safety issue, though, just financial. That said, it is still 2009 now, and the 2009 model is essentially similar to ...

Re: My Insurance just went up $150, WHY??

Get rid of them and get GIECO. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlwjIhHMWLQ . By the way, According to my local auto body shop Progressive sucks when you need them. GIECO was over $300 cheaper a year than Progressive for me. Actually, GIECO came in at $852 per year which was only $3 less then State F...

My Insurance just went up $150, WHY??

Hello all, Got my insurance renewal about two weeks ago. It went up only $13 for 6-months, so I paid it. Two days ago (2 weeks after I paid the premium) I got another bill in the mail for an additional $63 for 6 months. I called State Farm to ask why. She said it was mostly because the safety rating...

Re: Improve your lowbeams

What I would really like to do is improve the *HI*beams on my 2007 Montego. Unfortunately there seems to be no reasonable way. I'm still considering breaking open the "seal" around the HID area and putting in some silverstars for the high beams - maybe when the weather warms up. Armed with the fact...

Re: K&N filters

They put a motocraft paper filter in there, so the best flow SHOULD be with a motocraft paper filter. Which Purolator makes for Motorcraft. I thought Purolator looked the awfully lot alike. Same color yellowish paper and orange rubber. I have 2 purolator back-up filters in the garage. I usually buy...

Re: K&N filters

I had a K&N in both the Freestyle and the Montego - and as an experiment swapped the factory filters back in to see the difference - and the 3.0L motor actually likes the factory filters better - smoother accelleration and identical gas mileage - not sure why... I actually went back to the stock fi...

Re: K&N filters

I had one in my Montego for a few months. Gas mileage went down about .2 to .5 miles per gallon according to the computer. It probably increased the HP a bit but I didn't install it for HP. I put the stock back in and bought a few extra's for the future. I have a K&N air filter in my motorcycle. I p...

Re: Ford factory auto starter

I had one put in my 05 Montego. I hired the contractor that my dealer uses to install all their remote starters and other electronic accessories. The Installer told me to buy the OEM ford unit (made by PowerCode) and he would install it on the Montego. So I bought the it. It was mostly Plug-N-Play w...

I'd have to get a Passport to go there & get them. And probably have to wait 2 month for it too. I like the 17" OEM rims anyway. I only paid $260 for the set of 4 w/ centercaps.
