Re: What MPG is everyone getting?

Have you scanned for diagnostic codes? Check your tire pressures, alignment in spec? Correct factory tire size? etc. Are you tracking fuel economy manually using km driven & liters used vs dash readout? I check everything manually and with dash. Tires are basically new but I had winter's on recentl...

i've resigned myself to the fact that I am not going to get much better than 18-19 mpg in the city.

but, Prius mileage isn't why we bought our PIs did we?
Yeah but being in Canada a fill up cost me $90 today, if I was out west it'd be almost $120

There are lots of reasons for poor mileage, what are you getting and what is your driving style?
The MPG equivalent is 14 city and about 20 highway.

I BABY the hell out of the gas and brakes (almost never use breaks just coast to lights)

What’s the source of the $600 engine? I’d like a spare 3.7l to put in when I decide to replace the water pump. Maybe rotate them every 100K.

Re: Paint Restoration

I got mine from Cecil township in Pittsburgh, and you can see all the decals on the side and on the back and the police numbers are still on top, they did a horrible job. I don’t have a buffer so I will most likely take it to a shop It's about $55 for a buffer from harbor freight and $10 for a medi...

Re: Has anyone bought this tesla style screen?

I just installed this Tesla radio. For the most part it’s great, however there is no SIM card option available so you have to use your phone as a WiFi hotspot. And there is no way to activate rear defrost. Besides that it is awesome and far cheaper than the only other way more expensive option. Awe...

Re: spray painting chipped wheels?

Really depends on which look you’re going for. On my precious CVPI, just sanded it a bit, used a scuff pad on hard to reach areas, then used a black primer, then finished it off with flat black since it was its original look. Held up for 2 years. No issues. The fpis wheels are super shiny, so the p...

spray painting chipped wheels?

Any tips on spray painting my wheels?

I sanded off some of the rust since we have lots of salt here, on p71's any flat paint would match but now it's a bit more difficult. Does someone have an off the shelf suggestion?

Re: 2013 Production dates/numbers?

So based on that information my car would be 4,147 if production began with 100,001 and has a month of February of 2012 on its sticker, but I can’t get more detailed than that sadly, would have been cool to see what day it rolled off the line. But only Ford would be able to tell me that I’d imagine...

I hit all me hinges with white lithium grease and worked them for a bit. Also trunk a hood hinges. All smooth as silk now.
How'd you get it into the actual pivot? I used a qtip and just rubbed around (and opened and closed the doors ~20 times) but not a huge difference

Are stiff door hinges normal?

The rear doors aren't hard to close but they're much more stiff than any other car, I can't "slam" it shut since they'll just stop 3/4 of the way closed.

Is this by design? If not, do I have to put some special grease on the hinges?

Re: Get better Mpg

My 2014 PI Ecoboost gets around 350 miles per tank mixed driving. It only has 50,000 miles too. I think that isn't great at all for a V6 Turbo. Plus considering that I'm driving it normal and hardly ever go WOT if at all. My CVPI got better mileage than the Taurus does. Hell, my mom's XC90 monster ...
