Re: New kid in town

If you go with a civi console, you'll have zero fitment issues with the car navi unit. I had to do some trimming to retain my PI cover. can you post a pic of your install? i'd be interested to see it. i found the same looking unit on this site - seems to be the same car navi unit, but the ADDITIONA...

Re: New kid in town

I have that stereo in my 2013. There's a few posts on here regarding it. It works ok, but after living with it for a while, I think I'd go with a custom console with a head unit in it. There's just no firmware updates to be had, my car still says it's a frosty -86 degrees F when it's below 30 and t...

Re: First test ride

NADA clean retail is $13,450. CPO adds $1125. Unless this thing looks completely brand new, I would say 10 or 11k at most. PI's have a much cheaper resale when compared to civilian models. Pricing a 2014 AWD SEL with the same mileage returns a clean retail of $15,075. CPO adds the same $1125.

Re: radio upgrade

You have a couple options. You can either use a civilian cover or a PI cover. The civilian cover should fit with no issues, including 12v outlets and trunk button. Of course, you'll need the rest of the console that goes with it. PI cover will require some trimming/fab for the 12v outlets and humidi...

Re: radio upgrade

I have this same unit. A review is linked in this post... https://www.fordtaurus.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20598 They are all made by the same place, but there are multiple resellers. You may have better luck with a U.S. seller in getting firmware updates. I asked my seller (China) about an update ...

Re: 2013 Taurus interceptor radio upgrade

The GPS works without data. Just relying on the pre-loaded maps. No clue on how to get the latest maps, but you can change the default app to google maps or a few others. The stock navi app is called iGo. I'd do it again, but I wish my dash was back together already! Without the dash trim there, I'm...

Re: Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

I thought I remembered reading about people using the rear door speaker for a signal. I don't have them, but that would be worth looking into if I decide to ever tear into it again.

Re: Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

To me, it seems like the bass signal is split between front and rear. If I use the fader to go to either one, low range disappears.

Re: Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

So I've had this installed for a few months now... Sorry about the delay in posting an update. I'm horrible with remembering to get pics. You'll have to wait until I can clean my car up a bit for that. A review of the head unit: Has an OK interface you would expect from a chinese head unit- can be t...

Re: Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

Well, they most definitely do not get a full range signal from the stock head unit. I installed a powered sub that I had from my old car and got absolutely no sound from the speaker. Even with the crossover set to the highest value of 200Hz, nothing. I have one of these on order. http://www.carnavip...

Re: Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

I don't have the center speaker. I have the fan instead. That electronics tray is pretty heavy duty. I'm thinking it would make a great amp rack if I go all out someday... I'll update this thread when I get around to installing my sub.

Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

I'm looking to add a powered sub to my stock stereo by getting signal from the 6x9's. They don't sound like any low notes play through them. Does the factory stereo filter sound to different speaker locations? If so, is there an amp somewhere I could steal a signal from prior to the filtering? I hav...

My new 2013 PI

Hi all, Bought a 2013 PI AWD N/A a couple weeks ago. Installed a console from Amazon and a Bluetooth FM Modulator so I can get some tunes for my 1 hour commute every day... Looking to maybe upgrade the stereo at some point but it seems like the options are limited. Also, planning on upgrading to HID...
