Re: Headlight switch automatic lights upgrade PI sedan

Upon further testing, you are correct. The proper settings are: Enable delay menu in the IPC 720-01-03 - xxxx xxxx Change to --- 9xxx xxxx Enable Autolamp 726-12-01 - xxxx xxxx Change to --- xxx1 xxxx Should work on 2013 up. I tried both those changes, but the change for the IPC does not work for m...

Re: Headlight switch automatic lights upgrade PI sedan

I'm confused. I replaced the switch with the new one and changed the programming, making the 3rd digit in the second group a 1. I wasn't sure what Advancetrac was, so I only chose the Autolamp. 720-01-03 XXXX-XX*X-ZZ 0 = Disabled, 8 = AdvanceTrac, 1 = AutoLamp, 9 = AdvanceTrac w/ AutoLamp When I fl...

Re: Headlight switch automatic lights upgrade PI sedan

@Joh150413; Thanks for that info - I can verify that it works on my 2014 PI as well. I already had the sensor and I did notice that although I had the standard manual switch originally, my ETIS as built data dump showed my build included the auto headlamp feature... OK, here's the solution, at leas...

Re: Anyone ever flush their PTU???

Currently at 71k miles on my 2013 PI. I changed the fluid about 2k miles ago and it came out dark but not black. It appears it’s been changed before thankfully.

Re: $$$ for a water pump/timing set change?

The dealer quoted me 4500 to do it. I decided to do it myself as the shops around weren’t comfortable doing it, or if they were to do it that would be 1500 to 3000. It doesn’t seem like it’s a common issue in my area or most people are taking it to the dealer.

Re: Headlight switch automatic lights upgrade PI sedan

If I can't make this work, I'll just put a relay in the main wire to the headlight switch triggered by the key so I can just leave the switch on all the time, it will automatically go off when the key is off. Right now if you buy a headlight switch with auto headlights, the headlights will turn on ...

Re: Headlight switch upgrade

I got a used headlight switch that has the auto head light and I installed it. The headlights turn off and on with the car, but do not turn off when the sun is out. I'm not sure what else is needed. My vehicle does have the sensor in the middle of the windshield and it is plugged in. Is this the cas...

Re: Water pump is toast at only 60K miles (2015)

Yeah my 2013 PI had its waterpump go at 58,000 miles with 7000 idle hours. Your engine should be fine if you caught it early enough. After the waterpump change, I changed the oil about 5 or so times to make sure any coolant left over was gone. Runs beautifully now with 70,000 miles.

Re: Water pump quotes?

Keep in mind the PI cars have a 5yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and the water pump is included in that warranty. So you'll need to find out if your car's in-service date was more than 5 years ago. Any idea where I can find out about my warranty? I'm assuming through the dealer? Though I doubt...

Re: Water pump quotes?

There may be a difference in the EB vs the N/A but other than than the 3.5 is the 3.5 no matter what it's in. Okay thank you for the confirmation. Well that's good if there is no coolant in the oil, but perhaps the previous owner changed it just recently so it hasn't had time to mix yet? You may be...

Re: Water pump quotes?

How far gone is it? It really depends, sometimes you just need to replace the engine. Other times you can get away with changing parts. It doesn't seem to be too far gone as my oil or coolant hasn't been mixing, or if very little. Nothing in the oil and coolant hasn't changed other than the loss of...

Water pump quotes?

Hey guys, Recently I found out that my water pump on my 2013 interceptor is on its way out. This is confirmed by the loss of coolant with no leaks on the ground. Dealership quoted me $3400 for the repair and some shops will not attempt to do the job since it is so involved. Whats the best solution f...
