Re: Heater Core Coolant Leak

super easy to repair that gen heater core. drain coolant, pop both hoses in the engine bay (spring clamps), and then do some unbottoning of the interior dash. for your first time, 2 maybe 2.5 hours and just the price of coolant/core (probably a 45 minute repair for many). total novice grade repair, ...

.......since nobody is chiming in with a real answer........ are there slots on the side of that buckle? could be you need to release it that way. i remember diying a tool for the belt release, but i thought it was on the console side. heres the link to the tool to give you a visual http://www.langt...

Re: How do you remove front seat belt from pilar buckle on 15 Taurus?

Yea - now I remember. The PI has the explosive restraint mechanism at the pillar while the civi's have it over on the console/buckle side. I had to do some modifications to the pillar so I don't have an exact/experienced answer for you. While I'm sure that buckle can be unclasped *somehow*, couldn't...

Re: Replacing 12V plug?

As i said earlier, you'll have to disassemble the dash/panneling and remove from rear. Usually, there will be tabs holding it in place - depress and push through.

Re: 2013 PI Phone button Muted?

yea, i believe that's just the standard protocol running as if you HAVE sync. it's saying the RADIO audio is being switched to mute; not your PHONE audio. without sync you can't pair the phone so it may look like something's trying to happen, but it's not

Re: 2015 Taurus PI headliner REMOVAL questions.

Following - sorry I'm not much help on the issue. I pulled that stupid PI dome light and replaced with a mid-90's explorer dome. A great stock looking change if you didn't have any other holes (from separator I assume?). There were issues with the headliner drooping in early civi cars so there are s...

Re: Taurus PI upgrade center console installation issues

theres a long base plate in many PIs that all the police equip mounts to.......if you had this you could just leave it in as it would have the holes at the rear to be able to mount the civi console. without the base plate, youd need brackets of some kind. i assume the civi brackets will get that job...

Re: Got a 2008 Ford Taurus SEL FWD A Couple of Weeks Ago

our oreilleys will turn down rotors for like 9 bucks......and wont charge anything if theyre too far gone to be turned. thats a much cheaper option if youre on a budget.

secondly, youll need to properly bed in new brake pads/rotors or youre going to be right back in the same situation again

Re: Taurus PI upgrade center console installation issues

yes, there is a PI metal base plate that the console bolts into at the rear (just bolts to dash at front). this plate also covers the electrical modules so theres no interference.

unaware of anyone mointing console without the base, but im guessing someones run into this already

Re: Sony Radio in a PI Sedan

There are a handful of posts on this issue - you'll need to go back and do some searching. The short answer, iirc, is you can only do this upgrade if your PI is sync equipped. If just a standard non-sync 4", you can't (technically, you probably can do anything, but the skills and cost required would...

Re: Full Range Signal to 6x9's?

Since you haven't gotten any responses, I'll chime in - though it may not help much! My PI had a single, center mounted speaker in the rear deck. While the sheet metal had cutouts for the 6x9's, they were blank and the deck carpet covered the cutouts. The single/center speaker was worthless. I insta...

That's great news! I haven't heard of any other TB's going out, but if you can get out of a modern repair for under $50 (and whatever their diagnostic fee was), you've just had a helluva good day!.
