Re: CVT Transmission Fluid
I may be a little late, but I think that tranny has 2 filters. One is welded to the bottom of the inside of the case. It just needs to be cleaned. I would have insisted that the high pressure filter to have been replaced. But that's me. With this tranny even the Service Managers have different ideas...

Re: Transmission trouble, game over for 2005 500?
I'll bite. You're lucky you don't have the CVT (I do in my '05 Five Hundred, but with 66K miles). There might be a problem with the throttle body. If it's the transmission that shouldn't be too hard to find. It probably depend on how bad you want it.

Center console latch lock
A couple of days ago I broke this latch lock for the second time. Has anyone here repaired one? I see Dorman has made one with a spring. It appears that this piece is on a lot of Ford products. Is there a way to reinforce the "bending" part with tape, or something? Thanks for any ideas.

Compared Trico Flex with Rain-X
A couple of months ago I purchased a set of Trico Flex blades (24&20). Earlier this week I needed to replace an older Trico blades. Only these blades have about 3 different adapters. I am not the sharpest tool in the box, but I did the last Tricos with no problem. I watched the video, and that was a...

Re: Anyone else with a 500 considering buying a taurus?
So, the model years of Taurus 2008-09 were still 500's style? When my 500 gives up the ghost I might look for one of these, only my 500 has 65K (w/CVT), and still doing her thing. My username was my Mom's name (RIP, Mom).

I bought a pair from wisconsinautosupply.com for $24 that included a lifetime warranty. The Webmaster suggested ebay. I went that route. They were easy to install.

Inside rear view mirror loose
I have removed and reattached my mirror to get it to hold to that windshield button. Check it later, and it's loose again. Is there a fix for this?

Re: All Season tire suggestions? 2010 Taurus
I have a '05 Ford 500. A couple of months ago I replaced the Contis with Uniroyal Tiger Paws. I live near ChamBana. Almost 2 years ago I owned a '09 Focus, and replaced the junk Kumho tires that were the original tires when I bought the Focus new. Another suggestion is the Michelin Defenders. In the...

Re: LED cluster bulbs UPDATE: 11/1/16
Yesterday I received an LED kit with bulbs and connectors from a seller on ebay. I was able to remove my cluster without any problems. The connectors would not fit. I am taking it that I was sent T5 black ones. Anybody know where I can find 10 T5 tan ones without the bulbs?

LED cluster bulbs
Has anyone replaced their OEM cluster bulbs with LEDs? I want to replace my tach, speedo, temp and gas gauges with the white LEDs. Just want to see the cluster a little better. Did a lot of research, but just don't know which ones to buy. I have the black-face cluster. Thanks!

Front driver side floor mats slightly damp
I posted back in July 2016 of this problem. Warment was very helpful in regarding this problem. There is a grommet near the steering linkage on the engine side firewall. A repair shop 10 miles south of me fixed the problem. They replaced a grommet, installed a new 90 degree heater hose, and packed i...

Is there a TSB regarding wet driver side front carpet
This problem just came up 2 weeks ago. I noticed a couple of members having the dash removed, and a corner being recaulked. Just wondering if a TSB was released. The evaporator valve drain is working. All I do now is pick up the foot carpet and lay it upside down to dry. When I stop using the AC it ...

Re: Blower works intermittently 98 Taurus
I think you might want to check the blower motor switch. I have an '05 500, and mine still works. I had to replace the switch in my '12 Escape over a year ago. My problem was all the speeds weren't working. I am taking a guess, but that switch is behind the glove box. There are videos on how to do t...

Re: A question regarding CVT fluid level
I am able to access the d/stick by just taking off the top part. I figured if something came up it would show an icon on the dash. Even tried to put the filter into the top part, but it wouldn't hold. Welcome to the forum!

Re: New 07 500 Owner (ice_burg)
I own an '05 500 SE. Now to get to my tranny dipstick I have to move the top part of my air filter.I have a CVT for a transmission. I was to understand that for the 6 speed it is supposed to be where you can get to it. There is a site where you can enter your VIN, and it will give you what came with...

Re: Headlight lense clean up
My headlight lenses are still quite clear. I just have a couple of pitted spots mainly in the centers. In the past I have used 0000 pads to clean the rust and gunk off the chrome parts of my drum set. They did very well. Can the 0000 pads be used on the lenses? I do know that these pads can be safel...

The AUX button on an '05 SE
Has anyone installed a harness to use the button? In the SEL and Limited 500s do they have something connected to use the AUX? Also, if a harness is being used is it a simple install? Just wondering?
