I have a 2007 SEL 500. When I opened the hood I noticed that the cross brace that runs side to side (closest to the windshield) is rusted pretty good. Has anyone dealt with this? Can it be easily removed and reinstalled? I would like to pull it, get rid of the rust and shoot it black again. Should I use a high temp paint?? Epoxy paint?

It is easy to remove and re-install. Sand it and clean it up good and use Rustoleum.

No. The brace doesn't get hot enough that it would require high temperature paint.
