Hi! I've got a 2005 Ford 500 with about 90,000 miles on it. It's got a rattle in the front end. A guy who does frame work lives across the street from me, and he's replacing the sway bar links, but is convinced that this is not the source of the rattle. He was wondering if anyone who regularly works on 500s had any thoughts as to what might tend to cause something like this up around 90-100k miles. Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark,
I am having a rattle concern in the front end as well. Here is my post from awhile ago. The other gentlemen thought it might be the stabilizer links as well but I question what else it could be.

I too had the front end rattle. I just replaced all struts and the noise is gone. I have around 109k miles. Possible causes of front end rattle include bad strut, bad tie rod end, bad ball joint, bad sway bar end link, and bad upper strut bearing.

I would replace the struts and see what happens. I would be willing to bet that this will fix your problem.

Just replaced the left front stabilizer link and the rattle has gone away. The lower socket on the link was very loose. Altough, when it was installed you could grab it and it felt solid. New part is Moog with grease fittings and lifetime warranty.

I just installed a new front left Moog end link as well. Much more sturdy that the stocker and I like the grease fittings too.
