It's down from 92 to 74 in the last two weeks.

No, I do not own it.

Yes, I'd sell it. I think it has more to fall. The drop in sales from the bad publicity has to have a bad effect on their short term profitability.

It took ten years for FMC to dig out of the Exployer/Firestone fiesco.

Hard to say where it goes from here for Toyoda due to the economic situation.

I will guarantee this.

Just like FMC and Jac Nasser, they will recoup their losses from the bottom feeders.
Mark my words..., Happy Motoring :x

Buy low, sell high.

Two months ago, FMC stock sold at two bucks and is now selling at twelve bucks.

I don't have the money to play the market. If you own a christal ball and see the future, you are good to go.

It's a crap shoot.

I don't think it is a good time to sell the stock. The market has already factored in the losses and estimated damage to the reputation of the company.

The question to be asked is "what else could be found?" If the answer is not much, then the long-term prospects of the company are probably good and the stock shouldn't go significantly lower. If you believe that there are other things to be discovered, then perhaps you should sell.

I believe that Toyota stock will go somewhat lower. I don't have any idea how much. Will it go low enough to warrant selling your stock now and then trying to time the low point to repurchase stock (if you are so inclined)? I have found that trying to time the market is risky at best.

If you are a buy and hold person, the long-term prognosis (from what I have read) is still pretty good. I'm not a stock analyst, so I have to go with what I read.

Bottom line, if you had sold before the information got out, good for you. Now, it is basically too late as the market has already taken the value out of the company. Buckle up, Cowboy, it's gonna be a bumpy ride... :)

In addition to whether you think there may be further problems to come out, there's also the issue of how well they do in front of Congress at the hearings. Ford really got nailed by those hearing during the Firestone issue. I really think anything could happen.

From YAHOO news.

"Toyota shares tumbled on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, falling 3.5 percent to close at 3,280 yen ($36) after plunging 5.7 percent the previous day. Since Jan. 21, when the U.S. recalls were announced, the stock has lost about 22 percent. In the U.S., Toyota's American depositary shares fell about 1.2 percent to $72.67 in premarket trading."

It's definitely going to go lower as just yesterday i believe I saw something in yahoo news where toyota is looking at the brake system on their Prius and there might possibly be a recall on those. If this happens, all this is going to do is hurt their reputation even more.

I agree that the Prius braking problem is going to hurt Toyota. If you look at RStabb's post, you'll see that the stock only had about $1.50 in additional losses beween the time of the first post and now. The market has already mostly punished T. for the first set of problems, and that money was gone from the stock before anyone realized what was hsppening. The market is going to punish T. more because of the Prius problems, but that wasn't in play when the original posting happened.

I don't have any idea how much more the stock is going to drop after this new problem. I think that if you sell now, your timing will still be too late to avoid the majority of the losses.

Now, if you want to sell off because you think there will be a third problem...

Another view: Toyota bonds have hardly changed at all. They are still selling slightly above face value.

I'd put it on hold at the moment. Let the bloodsuckers drag it down and wait out the fire storm.
