I don't think has been covered but I wanted to ask...

I have a Limited and I am trying to find out what controls should be on the steering wheel.

I am sure when I was reading through the specifications it mentioned Speed Control, Audio Controls & A/C Controls.

I went to ford.ca and it does say it has A/C Controls on the steering wheel.

But, I don't have them. I know it is on the Freestyle though.

I felt around the steering wheel to see if maybe I was just blind and not seeing it, and on the bottom of the wheel, I felt that there was a little "port" of some sort to connect something... anyone have something similar? I'll try to take some pics later.

There is no AC controls on the steering wheel here in the states. Just Cruise Control & Audio.

Hrmm... fordvehicles.com does say only cruise/audio on the wheel..
"Additional steering wheel-mounted controls (audio and climate)" Standard on SEL & Limited.

ford.ca says "Dual zone front automatic air conditioning with steering wheel controls"

Maybe a call to my dealership will find the answer... :)

Strange...
Then again, ford.ca also says "Window grid antenna", which is incorrect.

Very interesting. I have the Limited & Mom has the SEL and neither have the Climate on the wheel. That would be a nice addition though.

I contacted the dealership where I got the car and they are contacting Ford (Canada) about this.

All documentation including Sales brochures etc... say SEL & Limited's come with climate controls on the steering-wheel.

None of their cars on the lot come with it - even the SEL or Limited Freestyles don't have it.

Apparently all the brochures and advertising and such is all wrong - they decided? against putting in the climate controls even though all the stuff in print says it includes it.

Did FORD think nobody would notice this? They should have posted a Steering Wheel Climate Controls credit on the MSRP sticker. I'd say about $35 would have been reasonable. I remember when I got my 2002 Explorer it had a Adjustable Pedal credit because it was supposed to have it but Ford didn't have it ready in time.

Anyway, the actual climate controls aren't very far to reach so I don't mind not having the option. I can't say it's realy nice having those controls on the Expedition's steering wheel since it's a longer stretch to adjust the temp on the dash.

They are close, which is also why I am not causing that big of an issue about it.

But once I receive my survey on buying the car, that'll be included in it that's for sure.

I understand the disclaimer "vehicle might not look at pictured, or things might change etc..." but to have every piece of printed and Internet material say something incorrect and no one notice to have it changed, is pathetic. The Dealer Operations Manager is who got back to me and he's getting it changed ASAP.

But I think asking Ford for a $50-$100 credit isn't a bad idea. Or just more free stuff from the dealership. Give me the scuff plates for free, I'll be happy once again. :)

I just picked up a copy of the Five Hundred brochure today here in Southern California and it makes no mention of steering mounted climate controls.

the idiots at ford dealerships dont have a clue of where the subwoofer is and looks like ford did not provide any information regarding this subwoofer matter or the information about the steering wheel climate control.

There IS NO steering wheel climate controls, at least not in the USA. So how he heck could or should they provide information about them?

Sigh.
